MacVoices #13181: The MacJury Discusses The First Weekend With the iPhone 5s

After a weekend when Apple sold 9 million iPhones, The MacJury convened to discuss their own experiences with the top-of-the-line, the iPhone 5s. Topics of discussion include the  security the fingerprint scanner offers, the enhanced camera with slo-mo, the faster A6 chip, and of course, what color everyone wanted vs. what they got. Covering all this and more are the panel of Peter CohenRich MogullSteve Sheridan and host Chuck Joiner.

Peter Cohen is Executive Editor of The Loop and Managing Editor of iMore. He’s also a freelance tech journalist who contributes to web sites and magazines around the world, including Mac|Life, MacFormat, and others. He co-hosts the iMore podcast with Rene Ritchie and is a frequent guest on other podcasts as well.

Rich Mogull has been working in the security world for 17 or so years, and breaking computers (usually by accident) even longer. After about 10 years in physical security (mostly running large events/concerts), he made the mistake of getting drunk in Silicon Valley and telling someone he “worked in security.” Next morning he woke up with a job as an IT security consultant. That’s not totally true, but it’s far more amusing than his full biography. He currently works as an independent security consultant and writer through Securosis, covers security for TidBITS, and previously spent seven years as an analyst with Gartner. Rich has also worked as a paramedic, done stints as a firefighter and with Rocky Mountain Rescue, and recently retired from ski patrol when he moved to sunny Arizona. He still dabbles in disaster medicine, when nature cooperates. (from TidBITS)

Steve Sheridan is the videographer for the NosillaCast Mac podcast, hosted at podfeet.com. He assists the host, his wife Allison Sheridan, in production of various NosillaCast segments and moderation of the live show and the NosillaCast Google Plus Community. Having recently retired as a program manager from the aerospace industry, he’s spending even more time working on the show. Along with videography and video editing, Steve’s passions include working with Apple products and other tech geek gear, delving into physics, dabbling in astronomy, and figuring out how things work in general. You can follow Steve on Twitter at twitter.com/spsheridan and on Google+.
