The Road to Macworld/iWorld 2013 takes us to Alan Oppenheimer, who will be delivering the Art Goes Digital TechTalk. Alan discusses his company’s efforts to create an “iTunes of art,” how the online world is making art more accessible to a wider audience, and the lessons that have been learned from the digitization of other media such as music and video. Alan also touches on how these changes are affecting art in education, the challenges of copyright in making art accessible, presenting new opportunities for arts of all levels, and more.

Alan B. Oppenheimer, president and founder of Open Door Networks, Inc. worked for Apple Computer from 1983 to 1994, helping to design the AppleTalk network system for the original Macintosh computer and playing key roles in such products as the LaserWriter printer, AppleShare file server, Apple Internet Router and Apple Remote Access.
Alan founded Open Door Networks in 1995. Open Door is an Apple-focused Internet company, specializing in mobile apps and Internet security software. Under Alan’s direction, Open Door shipped the first Macintosh firewall in 1998 and shipped iPhone and iPad apps on the first day possible for each of these groundbreaking devices. Alan is co-author of the books “Internet Security for Your Macintosh and iPhone: A Guide for the Rest of Us” and “Inside AppleTalk,”as well as the creative force behind the top-selling Art Authority app line. He is also president of the Alan and Priscilla Oppenheimer Foundation.
